I also think Dump is being played. He has something neurological going on. He has aged a lot a lot. These folks used him last time and this time he is even more easily controlled.
Interesting idea! I generally agree that last time it seemed like many of those around Trump were trying to rein him in and guide him, and this time it seems like they’re using his office to do what they want. It has been so odd to see him willing to cede spotlight to others - I never would have expected that. Pointing out that Trump is no longer in control also might help in breaking some of the blind loyalty of his supporters -if they’re not sure whether it was really Trump’s will or some larger opaque establishment that was pulling the strings
Yes. I think it’s mostly a case of Trump being led to believe he has merely conceded operational control but not overall say-so that is the key here. He’s now providing a freedom of operation to some major players with agendas that he doesn’t fully comprehend — and that, based on some of the pushback we’re seeing in the country and abroad, may not get him the results he wants.
Jon, A an excellent piece. It looks obvious to me that The Donald’s family dementia is progressing. He observed his forceful father totally lose his memory and that has always scared him. Now someone is making sure he’s supported in televised appearances by Musk or Vance. From DT’s point of view, you may be correct he views Musk as a good son. I think only Katie Wiles really knows all going on behind the scenes.
Thanks for this comment pointing out the impact of the father’s decline. And yes, I agree that Trump is now very closely supervised and supported and I’ve assumed from the get-go that Katie Miles would be the facilitator of this. I don’t believe he could or would be able to proceed as they have without him having someone like her to enable him to now de-stress and feel he can preside over us in the same way he presides over Mar a Lago.
You replied helpfully to my comment. As you say, Nirvana.
As you know, I have some strengths as a candidate to replace our Republican Congressman. I also have weaknesses, which my wife insists begins with my age (69). There are likely other Xeysir Candidates out there.
Xeysir rhymes with Geezer, and the initial Chi is a wildcard consonant; the lazy are free to use the same sound as begins "Gaffer" (as in Laffer Gaffer, the intellectual heart of Republican economic policy). I practice to use the terminal \Chi in \TeX, sort of like when a transmission without SynchroMesh is operated by someone insufficiently skilled in double-clutching, if you know what I mean.
You have experienced in politics, which is potentially of great value to all of us Xeisers who are ready to stand up, whether as a Candidate or as a Supporter.
The first job of any Xeysir in any position is to find somebody younger to do the job, not least because we have unfortunate tendencies to (a) keel over at inopportune moments and (b) wander off muttering incomprehensibly at other inopportune moments. Xeysir is pretty much always a teaching position! As we said in AYSO, It's for the Kids.
I liked your analysis of Trump, who sure does look like a trapped puppet, who doesn't know he's trapped. It would be sad in other contexts.
What difference does it make if Trump is being played? An interesting theory but the country is still in the same deep trouble whether he's being played or not. What am I missing??
I see no way to preserve the Constitution beyond electing an impeachment Congress. Jon's theory supports that program. Nobody likes any of the people surrounding Trump. Casting them as Elder Abuse practitioners, on steroids and more interesting drugs, is an essential element of the Impeachment Campaign.
Xeysirs of the World Unite! You have nothing to lose but Kid X... (that is the letter in the English alphabet, not the far more interesting Chi from the Greek. My family-name initial when written in Cyrillic.

Very possibly. He is that stupid.
One might ask; did he have a stroke and now is being abused by his caretakers?!?

Psychological warfare.
